History
Compass Ministries was started in Pueblo, Colorado at Colorado State University-Pueblo by Dylan and Kayli Austin in 2021. Since the ministry started, have had the opportunity to reach many students from all over the world as well as teach and equip students to share the gospel with others.
We have also seen a growth in our staff team, Josiah Herrera and Cory Jew, Joined staff in 2024, both former students in the ministry who felt the call of God on their lives to go in to full time ministry to see the Gospel proclaimed on this campus and to Glorify God.

Vision
We want to see the university transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ. And to equip the students to share the Gospel with their fellow students while they are in college and for that to translate in to them sharing the gospel with coworkers and neighbors when they graduate.
While we see some of our students seek out vocational ministry after graduation, we believe the great commission, to disciple all nations is a call for every believer, and that every student that comes out of our ministry would understand that and make an eternal impact no matter where life takes them after college.
We also want to be a hub to train and equip future ministers by developing a ministry internship program to equip students with theology and practical ministry experience to be sent out from here as missionaries, Pastors, church planters, or whatever God may lead them in to.

Our
Beliefs

-
I. We believe that God exists as one, yet in three distinct persons, the Father, the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit (ie, the Trinity).
-
II. We believe that Jesus is fully God and fully man, is the Messiah prophesied in the Old Testament, and the fulfilment of those prophecies in the New Testament.
-
III. We believe that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God, given by divine inspiration to people who wrote it down, and that the Bible is the concrete authority for all matters of Christian faith and conduct.
-
IV. We believe that all people have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, failing to fulfill our original purpose to be righteous and pure image-bearers of Him.
-
V. We believe that Jesus died once and for all for the sins of humanity, and in His substitutionary atonement–that even though He was perfect and sinless, He chose to take our rightful punishment and the outpouring of the wrath of God by His death on the cross.
-
VI. We believe that Jesus rose from the dead, ultimately defeating death and sin, and that we are justified by faith in Jesus alone, not by our works.
-
VII. We believe, as children of God and citizens of His Kingdom, that we are to produce fruit in keeping with repentance–meaning that our lives should reflect the changing and sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit.
-
VIII. We believe that Jesus will return to judge the world. Those who have accepted Jesus will spend eternity in God’s presence. Those who have rejected His free gift will be eternally separated from Him.
